Saj Shapiro, MBA,  President and C.E.O

Saj has spent over 20 years sharpening his leadership skills with companies such as Morrison Scientific, the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors, Patterson-UTI, Nabors Canada, Columbia Industries, and DrillGear Oilfield Solutions. Saj has lead and implemented numerous successful international growth strategies, completing numerous import and export deals from China, the Middle East, Europe, and North and South America. He has successfully negotiated and managed many acquisitions and divestitures, investments, distribution contracts, offshoring agreements, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings. Saj is a graduate of the University of Calgary, where he received a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance, and a joint MBA from The University of Alberta and the University of Calgary.


Milan Rajic, P. Eng., Vice President and Chief Engineer

Milan is a professional engineer with 38 years of extensive experience in mechanical and structural engineering, 3D modelling, Finite Element Analysis, design, fabrication, commissioning and project management in industrial and processing machinery. He leads Calgarig’s engineering management team in planning, organizing and evaluating the activities and operations of the engineering department. As a senior mechanical and structural engineer, Milan has earned a solid reputation worldwide for performance and expertise with an emphasis on mobile, stationary and rotating equipment such as mobile drilling, truck-mounted service rigs and trucks, hydrovac units, flush-by rigs, coil tubing units, separators, compressor packages, and on-road and off-road vehicles, carriers and trailers. Milan has led many engineering projects for diverse companies such as Tesco Corporation (Canada), Crown Industries (Canada), Foremost Industries (Canada), Magna Flow (Canada), Hi-Tech (China), Flow Drilling Engineering Ltd (Canada), Weatherford (Canada), R&B Industries (Russia), Sun-Hot (Hong Kong), Nabors Drilling (Canada), Orion Drilling (USA), Easternwell (Australia), and Bauer (Germany).


Mirko Švigir, P. Eng., Mechanical Engineer

Mirko is a hands on professional engineer with a Master’s Degree in Engineering with over 12 years of extensive experience in mechanical and structural engineering, design, fabrication and commissioning and project management in industrial and processing machinery. As a senior mechanical and structural engineer he is involved in mobile and rotating equipment every day. He has delivered detailed engineering projects of remote control actuators, injectors, downhole tools, gearboxes, and high-pressure nozzles, hydraulic systems for trucks and carriers bolt-on equipment for companies such as the Hall Group (Canada), Foremost Industries (Canada), and Bauer (Germany).


Radoslav Djurica, P. Eng.,  Mechanical Engineer

Radoslav is a professional engineer with 12 years of world wide experience in mechanical and structural engineering, design and fabrication in industrial and processing machinery. As a senior mechanical and structural engineer he is involved in mobile drilling, truck mounted service rigs, coil tubing truck units, water treatment units, compressor packages, and pumping packages. Radoslav’s strengths are in structural design, 3D modeling and FEA analysis. His main focus is on rotating equipment such as Top Drive engineering, design, design verification and design approvals. He has managed projects for Calgarig for Foremost Industries (Canada), Bauer (Germany), and Orion Drilling (USA).


Imre Ordog, P. Eng., Mechanical Engineer

Imre is a professional engineer with 30 years of extensive experience in mechanical and structural engineering, design, fabrication, commissioning, and project management in industrial and processing machinery. As a senior mechanical and structural engineer he has been involved in many projects focused on both mobile and stationary equipment. His portfolio includes truck mounted separators, compressor packages, suction pumps, and water treatment units on projects for companies such as Thixotech Inc (Canada), SPM/Dynacast (Canada), AMPTECH Corporation (Canada), LIVNICA, Metal Processing Company (Yug), and Bauer (Germany). In addition, Imre has extensive knowledge of CAD/CAM, CNC programming, Pro/Intralink- and Oracle based CADs.


Paul Murphy, Equipment Designer

Paul is an experienced Mechanical Designer with 15 years of extensive experience in mechanical and structural design and fabrication in industrial and processing machinery. As a mechanical and structural designer he is involved in projects ranging from drilling rigs to mobile truck mounted service equipment, coil tubing units, water treatment units, pumping packages, and trailers.


Radoslav Simic,Equipment Designer

Radoslav received his training at Siemens ST TIA Basis in Germany and is in the process of receiving his professional engineering designation in Alberta. He is a hands-on designer with 19 years of extensive international experience in mechanical and structural engineering, design and fabrication in industrial and processing machinery. As a senior mechanical and structural engineer he is involved in mobile truck-mounted drilling, mobile truck mounted service equipment, coil tubing units, water treatment units, compressor packages, and pumping packages. Radoslav focuses on structural design, 3D modeling and FE analysis, rotating equipment engineering, design, design verification and design approvals.


Radovan Tepavac, Equipment Designer

Radovan is a self-motivated Senior Mechanical Design professional. He has 28 years of experience in design and drafting of both stationary and truck-mounted oil well drilling and service equipment. Radovan effectively implements related engineering standards and drawing architecture to produce powerful sets of production drawings and is highly experienced in AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Inventor, and with AISC Steel Construction and API standards. He consistently enhances existing drawing packages. His core strengths are in troubleshooting, problem solving, quality control and team work. He kept an eye on equipment manufacturing process on site. He gained his engineering and design experience working for Tesco Corporation, Warrior Manufacturing, JNE Welding and Stewart and Stevenson


Sarah Davis, Project Coordinator

Sarah graduated with double degrees in Economics and International Relations from the University of Calgary. Sarah keeps the CalgaRIG team on track for deadlines and budgets by managing convoluted schedules, maximizing resources and organizing busy engineers. Sarah is no new-comer to project administration: she has held numerous Chairperson positions with non-profit organizations, such as the Campus Chairperson for Global Brigades at the University of Calgary and the Community Chairperson for the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life.


Chanelle Mather-Shapiro, Project and Marketing Coordinator

Chanelle  graduated with her Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Calgary. Chanelle assists in keeping projects on-time and on-budget through scheduling, organizing and cost-benefit analysis work. Moreover, Chanelle is our social media expert, and is currently working to give our website a face-lift. Chanelle has been with CalgaRIG part-time over the life of her degree, and is working full-time until she leaves for her Masters in Behavioural Economics this August.
